Offers “To teach as Jesus did”
within a community of students, parents, staff, and parishioners
|
|
Welcome to St. Martin of Tours School. Our school motto is
“believe and become” — we believe in God, ourselves and each other.
When we believe, each individual achieves his or her personal best
and together we create a child-centered parish school community.
|
 |
|
The school staff meets its goals in three ways:
Prayer, Learning, and Service.
- Prayer:    We pray daily, share school liturgies, and model
the truths of our faith in various ways for our students.
- Learning:    Acknowledging each student’s unique gifts, the
staff helps all students reach for their potential, strive for academic
excellence, and enjoy learning.
- Service:    We serve the needy in our community and the
world through our monthly casual-dress day donations, food drives,
Change for a Better World Program, and other community projects.

AMERICAN BISHOPS' PASTORAL ON CATHOLIC EDUCATION
|
|
“To teach as Jesus did,” (the American Bishops’ Pastoral on
Catholic Education) emphasizes three components: Message, Community, and Service.
Message: At St. Martin’s we share and live the word of God with our
children.
Community: We strive to build community within our school and parish.
As we begin each school year, we all sign a pledge of nonviolence to raise our
consciousness of how to live as true followers of Christ
Service: We try to serve all within our community and beyond.
Our school instills our children with a greater awareness of their Christianity —
growing in their love and understanding of God and one another and learning ways to
use their talents wisely.

THE SCHOOL STAFF AND STUDENTS
|
|
The staff is composed of qualified, caring, Catholic
professional educators. Their main role is to proclaim the message of
Christ to all. Catholic faith and values take priority in all their
actions. As an integral part of their Catholic education, we expect our
students to do the same — attend Mass each week and receive the sacraments
frequently. As their faith gives meaning to their lives, students display
Catholic values in their daily interactions. This makes St. Martin’s School
a happy place for children, staff, and parents alike.
